It was a wonderful, wintry January evening when Magnanimous Media hosted their Open House to break in their new Studio Two space. The event had a tremendous turnout, celebrating the film industry while also inspiring the creative community within its new studio space.

There was a stellar live performance. Amazing appetizers. Even better beer selections. Magnanimous curated an event where local filmmakers, from all backgrounds networked with local vendors and other artists to discuss the ins and outs of state-of-the-art equipment. With equipment and features constantly being advanced, this was the opportunity to expand your knowledge of what is available. To close out the event and bring the crowd together, Sir The Baptist was the featured live performance. Sir The Baptist reminded us to keep creating honest and unique art and to always create with integrity.

During the event, Magnanimous hosted a many camera demonstrations. This gave filmmakers the opportunity to get their hands on the latest equipment such as: Arri Alexa Mini (with shoulder rig), Leica Summicron, Canon 1D X Mark ii, Movi M5 Motion Stabilizer Kit, Canon C300 Mark ii, Canon 30-105mm Zoom, and the Bartech Digital Wireless Lens Control Kit. Mag made sure the camera demo booths were crewed by experienced camera operators to showcase and answer any and all questions from filmmakers. One of Magnanimous’ main focus is to remove the stigma or misunderstanding of equipment and to continually educate, while encouraging filmmakers to pursue their passion.

Vendors and top industry professionals came to participate in this year’s open house . The list of vendors include: Canon, Flanders Scientific, Fujifilm, and Fotodiox.

Canon mission is there are no limits to what an image can do. That’s why they have used their history of imaging expertise to drive innovation across new industries, all with a single, clear vision: To help their customers see impossible. They came to the event equipment with the New Canon C700 which was an event hit!

Fujifilm is an industry classic with 80 years in the game they  have continually invested in research and development resulting in world-class and highly versatile fundamental core technologies. While these technologies have their roots in photo, this expertise allows Fujifilm to invent and innovate new products and services for diverse businesses that will shape the future for Fujifilm, and they believe which in turn enhances the quality of people’s lives worldwide.

Flanders Scientific offers high-quality professional equipment to the broadcast and post-production industries. The quality of these monitors is truly remarkable: they’re lightweight, have a great range of size, and have smooth functionality.  Magnanimous has been long fans of Flanders!

Last but not least, we had Fotodiox who brought along their state of the art wide variety of lighting options. Their main lighting on display was the Flapjack LED edgelight. Made of durable lightweight metal, the 10″ diameter Pro FlapJack LED Edge Light C-300R has its LEDs mounted around the outer edge, aimed inward at layers of diffusion material instead of outward like a traditional fixture. Instead of a direct beam, the FlapJack’s bounced light produces a soft, even glow with no hotspots. It’s almost like having a softbox built into the light but with a form factor that’s less than 1/2″ at its thinnest point.                                                  Screen shot 2017-02-08 at 3.28.19 PM

Magnanimous Media’s Studio Two Open House couldn’t have been a success without the participation from vendors and everyone who came to check it out! Stay tuned to Magnanimous Media in 2017 for more surprises and additions.
