Remember when we hosted last year’s 48 Hour Film Project? No? Join us this year, then!
We’re proud to be the kickoff and drop-off location for Chicago’s chapter of one of the oldest and largest timed film competitions in the world. The 48 Hour Film Project is an international competition that encourages both experienced and inexperienced filmmakers to get out there and make movies. Within 48 hours, teams must write, produce, edit, and finish a short film. Participants sign up in teams and prepare to use all their brainpower, time-management skills, versatility, and ingenuity when the competition starts. For an added challenge and a level playing field, all participants receive requirements for their films: they receive a character, genre, prop, and line of dialogue, all of which must be integrated into the movie.
Winners of the competition will move on to Filmapalooza 2016 and can win a chance to showcase their film at the Cannes Film Festival 2016.
Participants can sign up in fully-formed teams here.
Don’t have a full production crew waiting at your beck and call? Never fear! You can supply your own talents by signing yourself up here and forming teams with others in the industry. Not only is it a way to get involved with an exciting competition, but it’s also a great networking opportunity.
